My teaching approach:
I find the students goal and work toward that. I have many guitars and recording gear to aid the process. I've played and recorded with several bands and solo. I enjoy writing and arranging music.
My influences are:
Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, U2, Chuck Berry, Stevie Ray Vaughan and a host of blues players

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:
We talk about styles they like (artists, bands) goals they have for music and previous experience if any and possible materials (books, iPod, gear, etc.). If they have anything prepared to play I listen to that.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
Depends on the students goals, but a 30 minute lesson may be half fundamentals (scales, reading, drills) and half songs (whatever you want to play...Green Day, Taylor Swift or your own).
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
Anybody with a guitar who has a burning desire to improve!

I've played professionally since age 15, studied music education at Kansas University, toured with and recorded with several bands and artists and taught lessons since 1984.
