Springfield Music
About
We feel that learning music should be fun. We base our teaching on songs and having fun. Most teachers focus on scales, chords, and theory - which while important, is decidedly not fun. We find that if we make the process enjoyable, and link the learning to music that the student enjoys, that they in time will learn the scales, chords, and theory as they progress.
We believe that great music teachers can change lives. Getting to work with students of all ages to develop talents that in some cases, they didn't even know existed, is a rewarding career.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Unlike most teachers that focus on scales and chords, and chords and scales, we start by teaching the student using the music they like. We will spend time finding their interests, what they hope to get out of lessons and build a unique, customized plan based on the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our teachers have a combination of academic training with lots of professional playing experience. However, it is our belief that the most important quality in a teacher is one who can connect with the student, and instill in them the confidence to perform. Music should be fun - not a chore!
