About
Through intentional and genuine care for the individual and their progress, guitar lessons with Lucas Prize are not tedious and tiresome, but made to feel more like a joyful hang-out! Lucas' strong but compassionate approach gets students on board quickly and real progress can be seen within the first month! Lucas has been playing and writing music since the age of 10, with several years of teaching experience to all age levels. From 2012-2014, Lucas studied music composition at Webster Univeristy (see link to Lucas' original music on YouTube) and has since been an acitive writer and performer, looking for all opportunities to share his gift. With his coaching, students are sure to enjoy the learning process while growing as an individual, instrumentalist and fellow music-lover!
As a teacher and musical coach, what brings me most joy is in watching the students fall in love with music all over again! Music is at the center of what it means to be human. It's a universal language transcending generations, cultures and ways of life. By helping someone to learn to speak this language fluently, it means that I'm helping them connect to the human experience in a deeper way, enabling them to live life to the fullest! The transformation that takes place is real and tangible! That is the most rewarding part, to see these dots connect in the lives of my students.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step is to access the student's experience, their current ability, a communication of needs and any preferred method of learning. The second step is ensuring that the student knows the expectations for our time together, communicating what will be required and what can be expect from me, as well! The third step is then to dive into the lessons, at a pace most comfortable for the student, with each session intentionally guided, creating an environment of support and mutual respect!
