About
I studied and trained professionally in New York City for 12 years performing leading roles in Musical Theatre, Concerts and Opera in New York and throughout the Northeast Region.
Here in Mississippi, I have performed leading roles in New Stage Theatre's musicals and with the Mississippi Symphony and the Mississippi Opera.
I was Vocal Teacher and Chairman of the Theatre Arts Department for ten years at APAC - The Academic and Performing Arts Complex here in Jackson, MS. During my tenure there, I received a Fulbright Memorial Scholarship to Japan, the Emerson College of Boston's Teacher of the Year Award and the Teacher of the Year Award from Parents for Public Schools.
I also served as Artistic Director and Conductor of the Mississippi Boychoir from 2010 to 2015 and have directed numerous choirs through the years.
I received my degrees of Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Vocal Performance from Mississippi College.
I teach a variety of singing styles including Popular, Broadway Musical Theatre, Blues, Classical and Sacred. My students include a wide range of ages and include beginners, some with choir experience, some with backgrounds in singing and some who are much more experienced singers who are professionally motivated. Whether you have specific aspirations or just want to sing for your own enjoyment, I love helping students discover and realize their full potential vocally by concentrating on their natural strengths and also areas where development is needed. All Lessons focus on basic vocal production and technique covering training in correct vocal production (pitch accuracy/ear training, breath control for vocal power and endurance, exercises in vocal flexibility and range development, enunciation, diction and dynamic control) as well as rhythmic development, musical expression, performance skills and how to communicate a song. For those interested, specific training in singing and acting for Musical Theatre is also offered. Lessons are 60 minutes for adults and 30 to 45 minutes for children and teens.
My standard fees are:
- Adults 21 yrs and older - $30.00
- Teenagers and up to 20 yrs old - $25.00
- Children - $20.00

I enjoy helping students move forward to their full vocal potential and in discovering how much more they are capable of in singing than they previously thought. Whether the student has aspirations for a professional singing career or just wants to improve and enjoy singing, I gain great satisfaction in supporting and mentoring their progress!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First of all, I find what the students interests and intentions are for lessons and their musical background and experience, if any. I then utilize the first lesson, as well as the next few lessons, to evaluate the students strengths and areas where development is needed. Then, in ongoing lessons, we work towards moving forward in improving and mastering their goals as well as their outstanding vocal qualities and stage presence.
