Experienced Music Teacher That Can Help You Discover Your Musical Gift
About
I began my music study in the fourth grade and continued through college and a master's level. Music has always been a part of my life and have taught children through the University levels. Have served on faculty of 3 colleges or universities. I have extensive experience as a performer too, on piano, violin, viola, some cello, and as a conductor or orchestras or chamber groups. As a singer I have served as guest soloist in oratorio presentations at the university level, sung male leads in operas, and have played violin and viola in a symphony for over 20 years. I have taught hundreds of students in private lessons and thousands in the classroom. My classroom teaching has been on the college/university and elementary levels. Seeing students develop their passion for music and the instrument they study brings me a lot of joy and many of my students have gone on to have professional career in the music field. One former students is not a symphony orchestra conductor. If you have additional questions I would be glad to schedule a meeting and sit down with parent and student to know that my teaching would be a fit for your child. I do have expectations and don't hesitate to tell a parent they are wasting time and money if their child does not progress.
I take a personal interest in each of my students helping them to attaing their music goals in life. I also enjoy continuing playing and performing when I have the opportunity. Presentlky I serve as the organist/accompanist for the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Olive Branch, MS.
