About

From the time Phylicia gave her first piano lesson, she knew she was destined to teach. After receiving a Bachelor's of Music from the University of Memphis Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music, Phylicia opened a piano and voice studio and called it The Music House. Since its conception in 2013, the studio has educated hundreds of singers and musicians from ages 3 to 80. As a professionally trained musician and singer, Phylicia has had the opportunity to travel to Germany, Austria, Belgium, The Netherlands, and Luxembourg with groups such as The University of Memphis University Singers and The Glory Gospel Singers of New York. In addition, she is the author of Healthy Choices Healthy Voices: Practical Ways for Becoming a Better Singer. Phylicia is a believer in continued education as a key to success. She received her Masters in Education from Freed Hardeman University in Henderson, TN and her Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. Phylicia currently serves as the Elementary Music Board Chair for the Arkansas Music Educators Association (ArkMEA). She currently works in various capacities of the music and fine arts industry as a workshop facilitator, worship leader, entertainment consultant, and a licensed K-12 music educator in the states of Arkansas and Tennessee. When she is not working she enjoys volunteering her time with the Junior League of Little Rock and the Beta Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Phylicia currently resides in Little Rock, Arkansas with her husband Marc.
