Every student has their own path. During the trial lesson I work with each person to make that path clear before beginning to give instruction. The guitar is such an awesome and diverse instrument, it's easy to get overwhelmed if you don't have a teacher providing you with focused clear instruction.

Find a teacher and take lessons in person. There are lots of places to get free instruction online, however if you don't know what you're looking for or what you need you can literally waste years searching.
