I have studied classical music, improvisation, lead sheets, popular music, chord theory & accompaniment. I play professionally for weddings, funerals, and churches, as well as for entertainment. I have taught private and group lessons for over 25 years. I have enjoyed teaching in public schools, and after school music programs.

I work with ALL AGES, all skill levels, and all styles of music the students desire. I have also worked with emotionally and physically challenged students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Explain in detail what you would like to achieve by taking music lessons, what are your favorite styles of music, what your goals are (personal enjoyment, performing, ongoing education, etc.) then have them respond in detail what methods of teaching they would use, and how it would help you achieve success. Ask them to demonstrate and play something. Make sure the teacher is a good fit for you, that you feel comfortable working with them and that they have your interest at heart and enjoy teaching.
