DC Piano Studio
About
I love to help students find their joy through music. I take students where they're at and go from there. I make every lesson count because I include creativity (style and composition), thought (music theory) and context (music history). I specialize in young beginners, classical and worship music, but also am able to accommodate a special project piece of the student's interest.
I love teaching virtually and using all of the great apps and resources now available. I love to use an engaging curriculum and customize my teaching style to the student's learning style. My most favorite thing is our recitals and seeing the students work hard towards getting ready and then so proud to share their songs with their family and friends.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The process starts with just a phone call or email from the parent or student. From there, we talk and set up a Welcome Lesson to get to know each other and discuss goals, lesson packages and policies and answer any questions that you might have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's in Church Music/piano and have taught piano lessons for over 25 years both privately and in multiple conservatories and music schools. I have recently become certified as an online teacher through Teach Music Online.
