I have a degree in Music Education and have taught both privately and in school settings for over 35 years. I currently play guitar and sing with a jazz quartet and sing with a big band in the Raleigh area. I also direct a children's theatre troupe. I love helping kids develop their God-given gifts and reach their greatest potential.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If they have previously studied with a previous teacher, I ask them to bring all their current music and come prepared to play for me so I can assess what level they have reached. I always strive to make the most of our lesson time and want to see progress each week. I like to customize what I do with students-for instance, if a student shows great potential and interest, I will move them at a faster pace.
