About this pro

My teaching is based on healthy singing with relaxed, easy breathing, great diction and style – no matter the genre.  I also strive to help singers incorporate acting and musical interpretation into their performance, so they are creating an engaging performance - not just making lovely sounds.

I love seeing growth in my students and hearing wonderful advancements as they develop their talents.  It's exciting to see the sparkle in the student's eyes when they get it!

She takes a lot of time to understand your experience and your voice. Kim wants to know what kind of repertoire you feel drawn to and pairs it with what works with your range and ability. She is extremely knowledgeable and driven and is very gifted in what she does. Out of all my experiences with voice teachers/studios over the years, my times with Kim were definitely among the best and most rewarding. Absolutely recommend for ANY age and any ability level, all that is asked for is a love and respect of the music!

Kim is an excellent teacher, and I can't believe how far she's extended my range over the last year. She has an excellent understanding of the voice works, is quite personable, has a great sense of humor, and she easily adapts her explanations if a concept isn't understood. I guarantee you'll enjoy working with her!

My son and daughter both enjoy lessons with Kim. She is great with different aged students. We have seen great progress in their skills.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We establish where they are musically and technically as well as discuss their background and experience.  Then we build from there.  The first half of the lesson will be focused on technique and the second half on repertoire.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a BA in Music, a Masters of Music in vocal performance and pedagogy, and post graduate diploma in opera performance.  I've also sung professionally for more than 25 years.
