What I love the most is to see my students develop and perform a piece that they have worked for.
When we reach that moment and record it or make a video that will remind us that our work is worth it, and that our pratice gives us results at the end, but most of all, gives us wonderful moments of pleasure, that, for me is finding purpose and joy in life.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every person has their own speed learning and I adjust to it.
I teach to read music score while playing.
I include theory, ear training, scales and arpeggios, and sight reading in classes.
I try to do 3 pieces or a Michael Aaron book per year.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Choral Conductor by the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, in Portugal.
I've been teaching Piano all my life and I love to develop with my students.

How did you get started teaching?
I had my first student when I was 14 years old.
I always did it, while I studied and worked in other areas.
In 2010 I opened my own Piano Academy that had an incredible development.
My personal life chaged and I turned to on-line classes since April 2019. I managed to keep 80% of my live students.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
To have several students that learned the first note with me some years ago and now are preparing the ABRSM exam for 6th and 7th grade.
Also, I am very proud that most of my studenst are independent reading a music score.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You should look for a teacher that understands you, and how you brain functions... We are all diferent and we all learn in different ways. To have a teacher that adapts to your abilities and speed is a treasure.
