I teach guitar lessons on both acoustic and electric. I have beginning and intermediate students. Once we learn the baisic strum patterns and chords of a few folk songs we branch out into more challenging songs. As soon as possible I want to be teaching each student the songs and styles they want to learn. I have been playing over 40 years and come from a long line of teachers including my mom, grandmother, several aunts and uncles and my grandfather who was a minister.

I am enjoy seeing students blossom and improve. It is very rewarding!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The first thing is a meet and greet to determine if the student has any playing experience. If they do I ask them to play me a song or two. Then I play a little for them. We discuss the kind of music they like and their goals. If it is a child the parent or parents are involved in this meeting. I answer questions about scheduling and my price rates.
