About
My name is Curtis Stith. I'm a professional musician and music teacher. I do in-home lessons for kids and adults.
My teaching philosophy is to foster and protect the joy that is inherent in music, especially in children. I use resources and teaching methods that keep students engaged, and interested, so that they can learn in ways they enjoy. I also strive to teach kids how to take initiative in their own learning experience, and over time I work towards achieving a lesson that is directed more and more by the student, as they become more comfortable being responsible for their musical education. When I was taking music lessons myself, I found that learning this skill also helped me in my academic pursuits, as well as many other areas of my life.

Beginning ukulele
Songwriting
My favorite part about teaching is watching my students get better and better and achieve their goals!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to find out the student's goals, and then learn fun and interesting songs that will help them achieve those goals!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Base prices are $30/half hour, and $50/full hour. That varies some depending on driving distance.
