The instructor is very patient, allowing the student learn at his /her own pace., even for a slow learner. That is important.

I have been studying the guitar off and on for over 20 years. Ive been with the Raleigh Guitar School for the last 4 years. I have learned so much and my understanding of the guitar and playing has improved greatly. Jons method of teaching leans into what the student wants to learn. This way makes learning a joy instead of a chore. I highly recommend the school.

I am older, 33 years old, and I have improved a great deal learning under Jon over the past ~2 years of working together. I can jam along to tracks now and learned many techniques and timing that I would not have learned attempting to teach myself. Jon is a master musician, does onsite and remote learning (helpful if you travel a lot like me). Highly recommended!

I have been teaching since 1990 owning guitar schools in Cincinnati, Dallas and Raleigh.  As a guitar instructor, I have taught thousands of students of all ages and experience levels.

I have had students with absolutely no previous experience and students that have come from other local guitar instructors looking for advanced lessons. All of my students have enriched their lives with guitar lessons. Some are hobbyists, some have recieved scholarships for collegiate guitar programs and some make a living as a professional guitarists.

A fond memory is receiving word that one of my students received a full scholarship to The New England Conservatory of Music. This student started with me at age 8.

Look for a teacher that has many years of experience teaching all levels of guitarists. A teacher ideally would be relatable, courteous, prompt and have ample performance experience.
