Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first day of class, I explain the curriculum, what he/she can expect from me and what I expect from them as well as the school calendar with the number of classes during the semester. Then I start my first lesson by teaching the new student the basics about piano, the white and black keys, octaves, the middle C, the 7 notes, and the hands position. I also teach them the fingers numbers and how to play the first five notes without reading music just to identify them on the piano.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduated singer and pianist at the music conservatory of Venezuela plus I did one year at the St. Petersburg Junior College in FL. I have 30+ years of experience singind, leading bands and teaching.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
A student should seek knowledge, experience, and personality. All my studenst highlight of me the fact that I am very knowledgeble and talented, but most important the fact that I am very patient and know how to teach. I always say that you can be a good instrument player or interpreter but be a terrible teacher. Teaching requires the ability to prepare each lesson from the simplest to the more complex and create teaching strategies that fit every student needs.
