I started playing guitar at the age of 10 under the direction of an acomplished student that was part of the Music Program at the University of Evansville, IN. After years of formal lessons and performances, I was invited to be the first guitar player in the 40+ year history of the Evansville's North Green Brigade. That experience led to a request for a slot in the Indiana All City and All State Jazz ensembles. After my high school years, I began playing in many local groups, traveling bands, and solo endeavors playing Rock, Country, Pop and Blues. At age 24, I began teaching guitar privately all the while playing 5 to 7 nights a week. I switched from my home studio to a teaching studio at Evansville's Musicians Den when my student load increased up to 30 lessons a week. While teaching, I developed a summer music program for teens. This program took students from multiple instrumental backgrounds and turned them into different bands. Many of those bands stuck together after the program was over. At the age of 34, my wife and I moved to Sarasota, FL. There I decided to upgrade to a digital studio format and have spent the last 4 years recording. In mid 2016 we moved to my birth town, Wilmington, and are happy to call this place home. I am excited to begin my teaching career here out of our home in the Brookwood Neighborhood. I welcome beginners and try to make learning fun by customizing the lesson plan to the student's interest. Guitar and music are my true passions which I hope to bring to life for my clients.
