About
As I deepen into my art as a musician, performer and facilitator, I find that music is the perfect medium for me to express myself with clear and kind communication. I always encourage others to reach a little bit further than they think they can go in order to achieve a new perspective.
I am always surprised by what can be accomplished with patience and attention to detail. Seeing someone cross over the threshold of striving to playing is one of the greatest gifts I will ever receive.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In the beginning it is important to get some basics under your fingers. There are some siple and short technique exercises that, if played each time you pick up your guitar, will improve your playing in a very short amount of time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BS in Mathematics with Certificate to Teach
BA in Music/Classical Guitar
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
30 minutes for $30
How did you get started teaching?
As a music student at UNCW I knew that I would absorb the information i was receiving much more quickly if I were to share that information with others.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with all ages and abilities.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I just played a New Years Eve Show where I got to walk around with an amp slung over one shoulder and my guitar over the other. A great way to be up close and personal with the diners.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My go to is always technique. You can learn to play 1000 songs, but if your technique is faulty you will always make the same mistakes.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do I want to do with the guitar/drum?
