About
**Background**
In 2020, after a fulfilling career in computer software development, I retired amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nebraska has been the heart of my family's journey since 1978—we’ve lived in Lincoln and Omaha, spent over a decade in Washington State, and now call Plattsmouth home. I’m grateful for 44 wonderful years of marriage to my wife, and together, we’re blessed with four daughters and seven amazing grandchildren.
**Passion**
My love for classical guitar began at age 14 and has remained a lifelong source of joy. While I’ve shared performances on YouTube through church events, I’ve generally stayed away from social media. In retirement, my goal is to share the knowledge I’ve gained over the years, and I’m excited to finally make that dream a reality. It’s never too late to start learning! For retirees, playing guitar can be a deeply fulfilling way to spend your time. For younger students, all inquiries must be made through a responsible adult.
**Our Mission**
At Uncle Bob Guitar, we aim to inspire musicians of all ages to explore the artistry of classical guitar and beyond. Whether lessons are in-person or online, each session is designed to be engaging, personalized, and enriching. Together, we’ll develop your music-reading skills and cultivate your passion for playing guitar.
Using proven classical guitar techniques, I’ll help you build a solid foundation that can transition seamlessly into any musical genre you’re interested in. Payment plans are flexible—choose weekly, monthly, or custom options that best suit your needs. Reach out, leave a message, and I’ll work with you to create an arrangement that’s ideal for you.
**Requirements**
We welcome dedicated music enthusiasts who are passionate about learning the guitar. Whether your interests lie in singing, jazz, gospel, or blues, we’ll start by building a strong classical guitar foundation to develop essential music-reading skills. Underage students must have a responsible adult handle all communication and cost negotiations. If your goal is simply to learn one song and move on, this may not be the best fit.
**How to Start**
Begin your musical journey with a complimentary, personalized 60-minute session. Weekday evenings and Saturdays are ideal for scheduling—let’s find a time that works for you! Feel free to call, text, or message me to book your first lesson.
**Important Note:** If your phone number does not start with "402," please indicate if it is from a previous location. Ideally, you should be within driving distance of Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
While online lessons are available, priority is given to students within a 40-mile radius of Plattsmouth. To ensure the best learning experience, I recommend starting with a few in-person sessions before transitioning online.
Let’s embark on this musical journey together and make music a meaningful part of your life! 🎸 I can’t wait to jam with you!
