About

At Papio Piano, we know students learn and retain better when they are having fun! I teach DUO lessons, where two students at a time come for a 45 minute lessons once a week. Music learning is so much more than just learning to read and play abunch of weird looking notes on a piece of paper. And students have different learning styles. At Papio Piano I teach a Four Arts approach to music which includes note reading, improvising, composing and arranging. This allows me to reach all styles of learning (visual, aural and kinesthetic) and provide confidence building for my students. DUO lessons allow us the opportunity each week to cover different aspects of these Four Arts, and learning with a partner helps us to retain better!

I began piano lessons at the age of 6. I developed a love of teaching piano at the young age of 12 when I began teaching neighborhood kids. That led me to pursue a music ed degree in college, and I have been teaching from my own studio for 30 years. To keep lessons fun and current, I regularly attend continuing education programs and network with several teachers around the country. Contact me if you would like to arrange an interview.

I enjoy watching students of all ages develop an appreciation and love for music and the arts!
