What is your typical process for working with a new student?
At Music Works Academy, every student is unique.
Our typical process starts by getting to know the student’s goals, experience level, and musical interests. From there, we create a customized learning plan designed to fit their needs—whether they’re a total beginner or an experienced musician. Lessons are paced appropriately, with a focus on skill-building, confidence, and enjoyment.
We also stay flexible—adjusting the lesson plan as the student grows, ensuring they stay motivated and continue to thrive musically. Our primary focus is teaching solid music fundamentals and letting our students explore creativity, individuality and artistic expression.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Director – Heather Korn
Heather Korn brings over 20 years of music education experience to Music Works Academy. She holds both a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music degree and is a proud member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).
Heather has studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and trained through the Metropolitan Opera Education Guild in New York City. She is a published author in American Music Teacher magazine and was honored with the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts Outstanding Teacher Award for her commitment to excellence in music education.
Her passion for individualized instruction and professional training ensures every student receives top-tier guidance in their musical journey.

At Music Works Academy, lessons are booked on a month-to-month basis with no long-term contracts. We offer bundle packages at discounted rates for both in-person and online lessons, along with seasonal promotions for new students throughout the year.
