Frequently asked questions

If you're a beginner, you're first lesson will be an assessment of your abilities so we can pick out a method book that suits you best.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing instruments since I was in elementary school and have never stopped learning new instruments since. I am currently getting my Bachelors in Music Education at UNO with a concentration in classical piano.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$15 for half an hour. $30 for an hour. Add $5 if I am traveling to you. You must purchase the method book/materials needed for lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching in high school. I became the instructor for my marching band's front ensemble. That's when I realized I wanted to do this for the rest of my life.
What types of students have you worked with?
Ages 5 and up.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
If the student is busy, as most are with all the extracurricular activities they are a part of now a days, they should ask the teacher their policy on missing and/or moving lessons. I have students who are involved in about five sports, thats a lot of practices and games, though I always accomadate for their busy schedule and am more than happy to move their lessons and reschedule as needed.
