My business card states "I believe that music should have children for a lifetime." Whether a child or an adult my goal as your teacher is to make your music study rewarding and fulfilling for a lifetime of enjoyment.
I have been teaching piano and music for over 40 years to students of all ages and abilities. I was the first vocal music director at LaVista Junior High in LaVista, NE and have maintained a private piano studio in four different states. My degree is in Music Education, K-12, Band and Vocal and Piano Performance.
I love seeing the joy on students' faces when they've reached a new level in their playing ability. I take pride in the fact that my students realize that playing the piano is a skill they can use no matter how old they get. It's rewarding to know that I made a difference in a student's life.
All four of our children took lessons from Diane and we could not have been happier with her as a music teacher! She found the different strengths in each of our kids and pulled that out of them. She motivated them to practice and to get out of their comfort zone in performing at recitals. We miss her tremendously as a teacher!
Diane Madsen was a great fit for our three girls. She started teaching the girls when they were 5 years old, and continued until they were in middle school. She made their lessons fun, and taught them to be accountable for their practice time. Since she moved to Nebraska, we have had a hard time finding anyone to replace her. She's an amazing teacher, and truly loves what she does.
Diane is a wonderful, caring teacher. She taught piano, music theory, and more to my three children for five years, and we are so grateful to her for the great education and foundation she gave them. They continue to be heavily involved in music and, I suspect, will be all their lives.
It was important to us that our son have exposure to quality music lessons, something that I did not have the opportunity to experience. However, as with many active little boys, this was far from his list of priorities. Then came Diane Madsen. Diane has had a wealth of experience with students of all ages, as well as experience with her own sons. This proved to be a winning combination. Her gentle prodding and sense of humor was just what he needed, making learning happen!
