About
Hi, I've been composing music for several years now and had placement in, The Gala, Five Stages of Grief, The Pied Piper, and am working on two new productions all produced in New York.
I've studied Music Theory with Pulitzer Prize recipient Dr. George Walker. After graduating Rutgers University in 1984 I joined community groups, church groups and have performed at a nursing home as an accompanist for their religious service.
I have successfully instructed individuals in correct interpretation of written scores. My piano playing has been described as similar to Glen Gould and my compositions (during my education) has been described as similar to Johannes Brahms and Igor Stravinsky. I would love to have ambitious adult students who have a passion for music. Having been in community organizations I have first hand experience in coaching amateur musicians in reaching their best.
I am passionate about all kinds of music. Being Classically trained and having Certificates in Music Production, from Berklee College of Music, enables me to break down other genres for my students to learn.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The student should have the dedication to practice at least a half hour every day. The brain takes time to sort through and make connections with new material. Finger dexterity can be accomplished through time.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is the student's ultimate goal? Is it to be competent playing ballads or learning some Classical pieces from the greats in Europe as well as the US. Don't rule out American composers. Together I can help build confidence and provide instruction that will take the student to the level they want to acheive.
