My teaching approach:I’m a firm believer in thoroughly covering all subject matter, including music theory and staff and chord chart reading. Learned in acoustic, electric and bass guitar and piano instruction, I incorporate computer-aided teaching techniques to capture students’ attention and maintain a logbook of student progress, supplementing reports with digital images of each student’s technique. I’ve developed a chord specific teaching methodology and created my own teaching curriculum. I Offer points of motivation and obtainable objectives to encourage each student’s growth and developed a teaching system for challenging, attention deficit and neurologically challenged students. I pride myself on providing clear instruction and developing well thought out lesson and practice plans. Other influences include; Carlos Montoya, Andrea Segovia, Paco Paña, Dennis Koster/my teacher for six years, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Neil Sean, Nancy Wilson, Roy Clark,Jimmy Page Richie Havens, Stevie Ray Varn and Jerry Garcia. This varies from student student. Once this is done I'm able to put together a lesson plan that will best suit the students needs. Which might include correcti any bad habits.
I've been a guitarist for many years and teaching for a few decades.
