I like teaching private lessons because I love seeing students' faces light up when they get comfortable with a new concept, when they master a difficult passage, and when I hear them getting past the notes and really enjoying the piece as a whole. Seeing students' love and appreciation of music grow, along with their enjoyment of making music, is another thing that really makes teaching such a pleasure for me.

My son wanted to learn to play the marimba. With Scotts help, he went on to play 2 mallet pieces and other instruments with precision and confidence. We were so lucky to find Scott as his teacher. He was polite, punctual, patient, and extremely talented as a player and instructor. I would absolutely recommend Scott for all percussion instruments. I should add...from our experience with Scott, I believe that he is an all around wonderful human being.
