What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Finding out what a student is into musically. First lesson will be tuning with a tuner and learning about the physical features of the instrument.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Early on I toured the southwest United States with heavy death metal bands.
Eventually taking a slower breath and booked my own acoustic electric duo and other acoustic artists at a local coffee shop every week.
Next step was to take my guitar and music onto a more collegiate level to study classical guitar at the U of A under world renowned guitarists David Russel and Assad Brothers. After winning a few awards myself I graduated with a Bachelor of Music.
I then moved to Las Vegas and hogged in various different bands at many locations around one of the biggest entertainment capitols of the world.
Evantually I was called to tour around the world with multiple groups. Covering ground of USA, UK, and EU.
I have finally found a ground and gig with one of the busiest bands in the metro city of Phoenix. We still do small tours and open up for big time artists.

Prices vary from $40-$80, 30 minutes to 60 minutes.
Depends on in house, travel, online, and grouping.
How did you get started teaching?
Teaching has always come naturally. My parents were involved in middle and high school education. This business also draws you to the subject which is great.
What types of students have you worked with?
Worked with students from ages 5-80, beginner-advanced in multiple styles.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A student I had while living in Las Vegas came to me and had never touched the guitar. Taught him for 5 years and he is now winning classical guitar competitions at an early high school age. He has now graduated and minoring in classical guitar studies.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The teacher needs to show it to be fun.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Have an idea of songs they’d you’d like to learn, different sounds and techniques you’d might like to know about.
