Alexis is a very nice and sweet teacher. Yet is strict. My son likes her very much. She is very patient with him.

We have worked with Alexis for more than a year now. She is patient kind and very interested in the children she teaches. She's the last music that challenges them but isn't too difficult and is also seasonally appropriate.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I would set up a time for lessons that works for the student and my schedule, then have the student purchase the necessary books/materials. Then I go to their house and start teaching on the first lesson.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

30 yrs. playing the piano, 24 yrs. teaching piano lessons. Proffessional musician here in Las Vegas.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$35/wk. for half hr. lesson

$70/wk. for 1 hr. lesson

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching piano to a child and mother at Church at 14 yrs. old, from there got more and more students and experience.

What types of students have you worked with?

Children and adults. Beginning to intermediate level.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Watching one of my very young students master a song that was very difficult for them.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I would urge them to find someone who has been successful and teaching in the past and to talk to them on the phone to see if they feel comfortable with the teachers personality and style.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

They should ask themselves if they are willing to do the practice necessary to pass their lessons each week and whether or not they are comfortable with being critiqued with patience and motivation.
