Kathleen Legere has been fascinated with the piano from age six when one was carried in the front door. She began study at age 9 after learning most of her older sisters piano book on her own. She began teaching while still in high school under the tutelage of a wise and gifted teacher.She holds a degree of Fine Arts in Piano Pedagogy from the University of New Mexico under Drs. Walter Keller and George Roberts, and graduate credits from the University of Nevada Reno under Dr. Ronald Williams. Ms. Legere has been a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music since 1975, and has been a member of Music Teachers National Association since 1974. She has held presidencies on local, State, and Division, and has been on the National Board of Directors. She has also held many other offices such as secretary, chairman of the Independent Music Teachers Forum, and all vice presidencies of membership, competitions, and local associations.Having taught piano over 40 years, she is "fully loaded" with experience, she has a great deal of patience, yet requires perfection in performance.
