Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with new students, it is important to discuss their goals. I want all lessons to be enjoyable, but I also need to know how far you want to go.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm currently helping a friend teach students on weekends and am in the process of getting my Professional Tennis Registry Certification.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is dependent on the number of people and location. I also offer discounts to those purchasing multiple lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I began playing again consistently a few years ago when I discovered a coach in my neighborhood. I found myself hanging around to watch her lessons and volunteered to help her teach group classes and loved it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all levels of players of all ages. As long as I know what they want from their lessons, I can make lessons fun and help improve their game.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently I was teaching a group of advanced beginners looking to get into tournament play. I've enjoyed developing trust with the players and helping them achieve their goals.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Communication is key. The coach needs to know what you want from your lessons and that should dictate how you learn.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I don't think there are specific questions that should be asked. I believe that whatever questions you have, ask. There are no bad questions. The coach should be happy to answer anything.
