About

Hi, I'm Anthony! I'm an award-winning singer-songwriter/producer (LVMAs 2018), written and recorded with artists such as Scott Hoying from Pentatonix, scored music for full-length award-winning documentaries such as "This is Norman" and currently working as a copyist (musical transcription) for a full-length comedy musical written by Scott Hoying, Brad Silnutzer, Joey Orton and Petro AP (poducer for One Direction). I've also produced and engineered multiple albums including my own - "Rivers" under the Moniker AGE of the BEAR - an acoustic indie-folk solo project. I also create R&B music under the moniker Page 1, and between both projects, have garnered multiple millions of streams.

Having experience writing in multiple genres and cowriting with dozens of other writers from Nashville to NY and LA, I've come up with a way to approach songwriting from multiple angles, and can help you find the one that fits your learning style and musical style best.

Thanks and can't wait to get started with helping you write your first songs!

I absolutely love what I do - there's nothing like seeing someone make the first connection to how to connect lyrics to melody, or writing their first chorus. There's nothing more rewarding than passing on a skill that was so therapeutic to you growing up to other's that may end up building that skill for the same reasons.

Frequently asked questions

I want to make sure first that I get on the same page about what you're interested in learning - whether it being mostly improving lyric-writing, learning audio production, or learning to write with piano/guitar.

It's not necessary to know an instrument to learn any of these things, and if you're interested in songwriting, learning that first can sometimes lead to more motivation to learn an instrument

I attended Ithaca College School of Music for 2 Years with a focus in voice and jazz piano before leaving to pursue music full time. Since then, I've received awards for my songriting (2018 LVMAs) written and recorded with artists such as Scott Hoying from Pentatonix, scored music for full-length award-winning documentaries such as "This is Norman" and currently working as a copyist (musical transcription) for a full-length comedy musical written by Scott Hoying, Brad Silnutzer, Joey Orton and Petro AP (poducer for One Direction). I've also produced and engineered multiple albums including my own - "Rivers" under the Moniker AGE of the BEAR - an acoustic indie-folk solo project. I also create R&B music under the moniker Page 1,  and between both projects, have garnered multiple millions of streams.

I started teaching drums when I was in high school, then piano in college, just from word-of-mouth recommendations or people who had seen me play in town and wanted to learn to play after hearing me.

I've worked with kids younger than 8, teenagers in middle school, college-age adults, and adults over 30

Recently a student of mine had just started coming up with lyrics on the spot and breaking the barrier of songwriting in real time, which just lit up my heart, to see their excitement after making the connection.

I would say that there likely aren't any wrong answers when it comes to learning, but that if you're looking to write songs, you don't need to learn an instrument to do it first, and sometimes learning to write can help build the bridge and act as a huge motivator for learning an instrument

Be clear about what you want to get out of your lessons, and if you're not sure yet, maybe try someone who can introduce you to a multitude of different things so you might be aware of directions you didn't know existed before!
