I share an abundance of superb training with my students! A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music with a Masters in Piano Performance I have enjoyed teaching all ages and all levels of pianists. In addition, as a member of the Herrick Ensemble, I have toured extensively in the United States and produced the CD entitled French and Viennese Masterpieces. Formerly a faculty member at the Manhattan School of Music Preparatory Division, New York University and the Spence School in NY I am presently with the Dwight Englewood piano faculty as well as having a private studio. I welcome all ages and all levels of talent, both in private lessons and chamber ensembles.
I love having a one on one relationship with my students and getting to know their lives their other interests their families their pets names etc. I love seeing their progress and abilities grow. As well, I enjoy preparing for set goals whether it be a recital, audition, or producing a CD.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In the first three lessons I try to establish the students abilities and needs and most importantly their wishes as to what direction they would like to go in. I like to look at their technical abilities and their musical preferences in choosing new repertoire.I also like to take a look at the upcoming year as to planning for informal and formal recital options.

B.M. and M.M. in piano performance from the Manhattan School of Music. Former faculty member at the Manhattan School of Music Preparatiry Division, New York University, the Spence School NY. Presently with the piano faculty at the Dwight Englewood School NJ. Private studio NJ.

$80.per hour ( prorated for 30 or 45 minute lessons)
How did you get started teaching?
As a young teenager I was asked to assist my own teacher at the time. She felt I was talented in this position and I enjoyed it immensely and felt very natural with the students. As time progressed I developed my own studio and referrals were always the predominant manner in which my student body grew.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students between the ages of 4 and 90. Some of them were new to the piano, others had quite a bit of experience and those in conservatory went on to become music majors and teachers themselves.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
On a yearly basis I participate in a fundraiser for the local high school as a soloist (Gershwin‘s Rhapsody in Blue) as well as accompanist for voice, winds and stringed instruments.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be willing to put in patient and persistent practice to achieve the best that you can be.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do you have ample technique to be able to play your current repertoire fluently? Also what preferences, if any, do you have for the repertoire that you want to play. Can you be very diligent about practicing and managing your time amongst all the other things that you do both at home and school.
