About this pro

I have over 50 years of teaching experience including working with all age groups, and hold two degrees from the College/Conservatory of Music. I have a deep passion for sharing the world of music which encompasses much more than simply learning to play the instrument.  This involves integrating pertinent knowledge of music theory and music history into lessons to help students understand what the composer was expressing.

Everything! The joy of seeing my students light up at mastering a new skill and their pride at learning how to express themselves through music is the most rewarding aspect of my life! Music is truly the language of the soul.

My daughter is studying the violin through this studio. Her instructor, Barbara Roth, is very patient and has helped her to refine her technique. She brings many years of experience to the lessons. We were able to get a time that fit our hectic schedules and the rates are very affordable.

What a gift! I took lessons as a child, but didn’t stick with it. Now, as an adult, I decided to return to the piano and continue to learn. I am so glad I found Barb! I started taking piano with her a few years ago, and my lesson is consistently the highlight of my week. Not only am I learning to play the notes on the page, I’m also learning to play music as a form of art. Barb has always been encouraging and often sees potential in me that I often don’t see in myself. Barb Roth is a patient and talented piano teacher whose love and appreciation for music is obvious and contagious. I highly recommend her!!

It's a very casual and positive atmosphere, with a teacher who cares for the students and has a deep passion for music. Anyone of any age or skill level can start, and can still be guaranteed great classes and inspiring music.

Ms. Roth really enjoys teaching all ages about music

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I take time to relate to each student’s personality so I can communicate directly to him or her.  This provides a better working relationship between teacher and student to facilitate steady progress and joy in learning.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Over 50 years of experience working with all ages. I hold degrees in both piano and violin performance and education.
