Brenda first discovered yoga when she was about 12 years old and has been practicing throughout her life.  It was not until 2012, however, that she learned that she wanted to teach, and she completed a 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training recognized by the Yoga Alliance (at the 200-hour level) at World Peace Yoga, Cincinnati, Ohio.  Since that time, she has enjoyed teaching yoga to adults and children at various locations in Price Hill and Covington.  Brenda is certified to teach multiple styles of Hatha Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation. ... Wild Ginger Yoga Travels was started by Megan Kennedy, a certified yoga teacher who aims to take her students out in nature for yoga lessons. Megan got her bachelor's degree in psychology and master's degree in environmental science, so her yoga practice has been shaped by these perspectives. She was trained in Ashtanga Yoga, but incorporates other styles like yin yoga in her classes. A main focus in her practice is to release tension and move with the energy of the outdoor environment. How much do yoga classes cost?

Frequently asked questions

How much do yoga classes cost?

The average cost of single group sessions at yoga studios across the country is $15 to $20. For private yoga training, you will likely spend between $30 and $70 on each lesson. Yoga classes mostly take place in a group setting, and the price per class depends on the location, yoga teacher’s knowledge and experience, and years of teaching.

How long is a yoga class?

On average, a yoga class is 75 to 90 minutes long. Many instructors say 90 minutes is simply how long it takes to pace through all the sacred yoga asanas, but a new shorter 60 minute class is quickly becoming popular with students.

What to wear to yoga class?

Most women prefer to wear tank tops or a sports bra that's made of a cotton and lycra (spandex) blend when they do yoga. Loose tee shirts and underwire bras are usually a no-no because they have a tendency to get in the way of movement.

For the bottoms, most women prefer to wear tights. These comfortable and stretchable pants will provide you with a full range of movement and allow your instructor to check your alignment. For slower-paced classes, you may be able to pull off wearing long skirts or stretchable harlem pants.

What to bring to yoga class?

Although many necessities are usually provided for you, there are a few things you may still want to bring yourself.

Here's what to bring to yoga class:

  1. Comfortable yoga attire
  2. Water bottle
  3. Hand towel
  4. Yoga mat
  5. Change of clothes
  6. Post-yoga snack

How often should you do yoga?

For those who are already quite active, doing yoga at least once or twice per week is recommended. For experienced practitioners, doing yoga every day is not uncommon. However, if you begin to be sore, consider taking a day or two off. Even if you only do you for one hour a week, you will experience the benefits of the practice.

How long does it take to get good at yoga?

There are many beginner yoga poses and sequences that you can get good at in your first yoga class. On a more spiritual level, it may take a lifetime to find the union between mind, body and spirit. You should expect to practice regularly for about six months before you feel confident that you can perform fundamental poses steadily and with some degree of proper form.
