Gaetano (Tom) Letizia is a 30 year veteran performer and teacher playing all over the USA. Tom loves helping students of all ages learn to play and have fun on guitar in all musical styles.

Students learn to read music and not just tab. We also work on timing and feel so that the student can make songs feel right. The process takes 2-3 years and then the students can actually play really well and not just have a guitar sitting in the corner they only know a few licks on.
My only requirement is 15 minutes practice every day with no excuses and you'll be able to play really well. Many of my students play in bands and do open mics and jam sessions. They're having fun.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first lesson is free and we sit down to talk about the student's interests. I show them the process of learning music fundamentals tailored to their interests. For example, if the student loves fingerstyle acoustic music, we aim everything that way.
All musical styles have the basics in common and we work on those basics like rhythm, chords, soloing and playing while singing.
I concentrate on getting students to actually play simple songs in the first few weeks and then add more techniques and knowledge each week.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Toured nationally with rock, jazz and blues bands for 30 years. Recorded 12 solo CDs. Music played on blues and jazz stations internationally. Reviewed in Down Beat and Guitar Player magazines.Studied jazz and blues guitar with internationally reknown guitarists for over 30 years. Classical guitar major n college. Currently performing and touring.
