About
Philip teaches students of all ages in Piano, Accompanying, Organ, all Keyboards, Music Theory and Music Composition at Music and Arts in Worthington, Ohio.
His many rehearsals and performances for Ballet Met, the Ohio State University, Ohio University, Wittenberg University, Capital University, Kenyon College, Otterbein University and many other univerisities, churches and other organizations continues as he instructs serious musicians interested in keyboard studies, theory and composition.
For many years Philip taught at Capital University, Wittenberg University, Ohio University and has performed for multiple broadway musical productions in and around central Ohio as well as professional accompanying opportunities with MTNA, NFMC, OMEA, etc....and continues to perform regularly throughout the year.
As a NCTM member of MTNA with a permanent professional teaching certificate, he enjoys teaching as his greatest passion in life.
Observing how students of various ages progress and learn hopefully to make music for the rest of their lives.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We begin with an introduction to the piano. The student needs to have access to a piano in order for me to teach them. Familiarizing the new student with the instrument is the first process. The following process would last for months at a time learning technical drills, reading skills and music theory to understand more of the art of piano playing and music theory with method books appropriate to the student's age and/or level of education. If the student is interested in performance, we can work to get the new student ready for any performance either in the music lesson or public audience. Severl progress reports and technical drills will be logged by the instructor and shared with the student. If the student wishes to perform, there are multiple opportunities with Ohio Music Teachers Association and area studio recital events planned annually.
