Hello, and thank you for looking into my profile!I am a music teacher who teaches violin, viola, and piano out of my home in Dublin, Ohio. I enjoy teaching students of any level, from beginner to advanced. I believe that private music study can and should be both rewarding and fun, and I strive for both in every lesson.A little about my background: I have been playing viola since I was 9, and I started playing in professional orchestras in the central Ohio area when I was 14 -- suffice it to say, that's over 20 years of professional teaching and performing experience. I have bachelors degrees in mathematics and in music performance, and I also have masters degrees in both mathematics and in music theory and analysis. That means I can offer my students a lot of expertise in many areas of music -- performance technique, music theory, aural skills, music history, and more. In addition to maintaining and active private studio, I also continue to perform as an orchestral musician and sometimes soloist in the area. Over my career I've played with orchestras in Lincoln (NE), Omaha, Lima (OH), Bexley, Westerville, and others. I also belong to several professional organizations for music teachers, and I have been an adjudicator (judge) for local performance competitions. So, if you are interested, now is a great time to sign up for lessons, whether you are just a beginner, someone beginning to get more serious with their playing, or want to take up lessons again after many years away from your instrument. Please send me a note -- I look forward to working with you!
