Jazz Piano, Vocal, Harmony Lessons

JAZZ PIANO: With a thorough indoctrination of jazz harmonic structure around the circle of fifths in all keys, the jazz piano student is encouraged to use the vast multitude of jazz scales, chords, voicings, riffs and arpeggios as a language with which to base improvisation and maximize creativity.

VOICE: Jazz vocal coaching, vocalizes, transposition, repertoire selection, theory and harmony from a working jazz vocalist-pianist with 25+ years teaching and performing experience.

CONVENTIONAL PIANO LESSONS: I work with first grade to adult piano students using a well-rounded approach that integrates all aspects of musicianship including interpretation, theory, technique, ear-training, sight-reading and performance skills and focusing on the needs and desires of the individual. I teach styles ranging from classical to jazz and most everything in between. I also offer piano lessons to pre-schoolers who are especially gifted or express special interest.

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy and Performance with a Minor in Voice at Newark. 25+ years teaching and performing experience.
