How did you get started teaching?
Susan Holtzscher has always known music to be a part of her life, as growing up with an elementary music teacher for a mother would naturally lend itself to singing, playing an instrument and attending musical concerts. Her family has always been supportive of musical involvement and encouraged her to use her God-given talents. Beginning lessons at age five, Susan has now been playing piano for over 40 years and truly enjoys collaborative music, accompanying vocalists, instrumentalists, and various school and church choirs. Originally from Temperance, MI, Susan studied piano with Martha McFarland in Toledo, until she went to Cedarville University, studying with Professor Connie Anderson. There she graduated in 1998 with a Bachelors of Arts in Music and Piano Pedagogy. In 2009, Susan became a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) through Music Teacher's National Association (MTNA). Susan is the owner of The Studio Connection.
What types of students have you worked with?
