The Studio Connection has taught over 300 students since being established in 2008. We offer private lessons with piano, guitar, voice, strings and woodwinds. By providing music lessons at a variety of times with multiple teachers, families may schedule several lessons for different children at the same time.

Our qualified teachers all have university degrees or equivalent experience in the instrument they teach, catering to the needs of new students and advancing students. Parents are welcome to sit in on the lessons or observe through the glass windows.

The Studio Connection is an independent music studio devoted to promoting a love of music to students of all ages within the local community.  For students who desire to learn, our musically trained, professionally qualified instructors strive to educate, motivate and guide them to discover and develop their potential as a creative musician.  The goal is to nurture life-long skills, enabling students to think critically, independently, and become musically self-reliant.  Recognizing the unique learning style of every individual, we are committed to tailoring a well-rounded curriculum presented in a positive and supportive environment.

How did you get started teaching?

Susan Holtzscher has always known music to be a part of her life, as growing up with an elementary music teacher for a mother would naturally lend itself to singing, playing an instrument and attending musical concerts.  Her family has always been supportive of musical involvement and encouraged her to use her God-given talents.  Beginning lessons at age five, Susan has now been playing piano for over 30 years and truly enjoys collaborative music, accompanying vocalists, instrumentalists, and various school and church choirs.  Originally from Temperance, MI, Susan studied piano with Martha McFarland in Toledo, until she went to Cedarville University, studying with Professor Connie Anderson.  There she graduated in 1998 with a Bachelors of Arts in Music and Piano Pedagogy. In 2009, Susan became a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) through Music Teacher's National Association (MTNA). Susan is the owner of The Studio Connection.

What types of students have you worked with?

We have worked with all types of students from Kindergarten through Adult. We also have group classes for babies through 7 years old. Our teachers have also worked with students with autism and other disabilities.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Do not choose a teacher on price but rather their expertise.
