About
Located in Youngstown, Ohio and surrounding areas, Students Motivated by the Arts, also known as SMARTS, is a community-based art school founded at YSU in 1997. SMARTS aims to motivate PK-12 students to succeed in all areas of life through the discipline and focus of creating art. They offer free classes in visual arts, music, dance, theater, and creative writing, which take place during and after school at the SMARTS facility and in the community at schools and organizations that serve youth.
