Learning any new skill can at times be absolutely frustrating, but through perseverance comes accomplishment, and there is no greater reward than facing and conquering any challenge.
No matter if you're an absolute beginner, or striving to improve your already established musical ability, there is always going to be some type of obstacle you will encounter. The attitude you approach such issues with is detrimental to your growth, not only as a guitarist, but as a musician in general.
I encourage my students to be as mindful as possible about what they are aiming to accomplish on their journey to learn the guitar. For example, it helps to begin by listing some of your favorite artists/groups you'd like to emulate, initially. Learning your favorite songs can tremendously increase the speed at which you learn. After all, playing guitar is ultimately about having fun.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin by determining the student's experience with the guitar, or playing music in general. I then work with them to establish and meet specific goals, both long and short term.
I encourage my students to provide a list of their favorite bands/guitarists, along with examples of songs they'd like to learn to play so that we can establish a curriculum to see their goals through.
Everybody learns differently. My pupils are allowed to learn at their own pace, so there is no need to feel rushed, or otherwise pressured to learn at a specific rate, so long as they are seriously working to improve.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began studying music theory and learning to play both online (pre-YouTube), and from more experienced musicians than myself. There is a plethora of knowledge at your fingertips, the key is having the discipline to utilize the tools to grow.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am very flexible and will, within reason, allow you to pay based on the quality of lesson you feel you've received, but a steady minimum of 10 dollars an hour is greatly appreciated.
How did you get started teaching?
Teaching began naturally by starting bands with friends, and helping them learn parts they may have been struggling with.
What types of students have you worked with?
Primarily absolute beginners of all ages.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Just to be certain that they are willing to seriously dedicate the time and effort it can take to harness a new skill.
