Description about my music education organization's philosophy, experience, community, curriculum, and faculty: Norman Music Institute is located on the northwest side of Norman, OK. We offer music lessons for piano, voice, guitar, bass, drums, all the band and orchestra instruments. We have a state of the art performance hall on site with pro light and sound. Our teachers are well educated and have been performing in the studio and on stage for years. Our mission statement "Learn.Play.Perform"

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We listen to the student to find out what style of music that they want to learn how to play and build their lesson plan around that. When the students are learning to play what they like to listen to they are motivated to practice and continue their musical journey.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All our teachers either have degrees in music or years of professional playing. Our teachers design lesson plans that keep the learning process fun.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our lessons are $118 a month for a 30 minute lesson each week. The schedule makes sure each day of the week gets 48 lessons a year so that you average 4 lessons a month all year long.
How did you get started teaching?
We wanted to have a teaching studio that had a performance hall built in so the students could get on stage and show their skills. The teachers learn the songs so that the student gets the experience of playing with other musicians. We have Student Showcases every month so there are plenty of opportunities for the students to perform.
What types of students have you worked with?
We have students from 4 years old to over 70. It’s never too late to start learning to play an instrument.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Our monthly Student Showcases allow the students to have a wonderful time playing the music they enjoy.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teaching studio that allows you to Learn. Play. And Perform.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What style of music do you want to play and what are your goals for 6 months and one year.
