I have been the student, the musician and ran a highly successful lesson studio for 7 years in Chicago. My experience has taught me that every student is unique and there is no set path to get to where you want to be.

I believe the introductory period is a time where its important to not overwhelm the student with too much all at once. This can lead to frustration and a lower success rate of students staying with the guitar.

Guitar lessons should be fun, while you learn. I encourage students to set goals and pick certain songs that they want to learn while also working on the tools and technique's of learning to play guitar.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

Someone that loves music and is hungry to learn. My motto has always been "Learning and doing something you love is a marathon and not a race.
