Frequently asked questions

We offer trial sessions to help  with students get started. During your trial you'll participate in a regular group class or one on one session. During group classes we keep the energy high and make sure newcomers work with the most friendly and experienced students at the school. This ensures you have fun while learning new skills and lay the ground work for a fulfilling journey in martial arts.

Our top coaches have more than 20 years experience in Muay Thai, Kali and Jeet Kune ado, and Brazilians jiu Jitsu. These high level practitioners are at the academy every day to give you the best information and education available.

We offer a variety of packages at $12-$14 per day. This includes monthly rates as well as punch cards for adults that never expire.

Personally I've been training in martial arts since the 80's. As I grew older it was a natural fit to begin teaching classes. Eventually it became such a passion to help and share with others that I gave up a full time career in the high tech industry to teach full time.

All walks of life. Teaching thousands of people in the Portland area over the last decade I've learned you can't judge a book by its cover! It's really true, I've had the softest and laziest student turn around and become the most athletic and adept practitioner in the school. You never know what's on the inside until you hone it like a diamond.

Make sure they have credentials and are qualified to teach. Secondly make sure the system or method they're offering is truly functional. Will to work for your size and body type? Is it good for self defense? Would it hold up under an MMA competition or other martial arts styles? Try or at least watch classes at more than one place before you commit. Good training isn't free, and free training isn't good, you'll get what you pay for.

What are your specific goals? What do you want to get out of training like this? How much would you expect to pay per class for a paid professional to transmit this skill?
