As a late starter in the musical world, Akina grew to love music. She started learning the piano at 12, harp at 15 and violin at 17. She is currently taking violin lessons with Linda Fiore and piano lessons with Darlene Ziegler.
She currently teaches piano lessons in her home studio, ranging from beginner to intermediate.
