Hello! My name is Dominic Gena, I am an experienced 18 year old guitarist who loves to practice guitar and help people accomplish their goals, and just help people in general. Putting these two traits together, I decided to start my dream music career young by teaching guitar to people of all ages and skill levels! I have 2.5 years of teaching experience and 14 years of guitar playing experience and I would really enjoy every moment of sharing my love of guitar to the public and bringing more people to the incredible and intriguing world of guitar playing! Here are a few things you will be learning:

Staple guitar habits and techniques, like hand placement, alternate picking, economy picking, bending, sliding, finger picking, style searching, and finding your own signature sound through the use of your inspirations.

Reading tablature

Learning how melodies are built

Learning how chords are build

Scales, like major pentatonic, minor pentatonic, Aeolian scale, Ionian scale, harmonic minor, melodic minor, diminished, etc.

How songs are made through the use of scales

How to take care of your instrument

Learn how to use various technologies associated with the guitar (Amplifier, pedals, foot switches, and other tone control equipment)

Books will only be needed for some and will be discussed on first lesson date.

    Work with them to allow them to be comfortable with proper hand placement in both the fretting and picking hand.  

    Guitarist for 14 years, 93% Final Average in AP Theory and Harmony class at school.  Three years experience in teaching.  

    Half Hour- $20/Lesson, 4 lessons per month. 

    Full Hour- $50/Lesson, 4 lessons per month. 

    Paid at the beginning of each month.  $80/month half hour, $200/full hour.  

    I started teaching three years ago, being guided by my dad who has played for 36 years and taught for 25.  

    Young, teen, adult.  All skill levels.  

    I got reached out to by my local music store to rent one of their studios every week.

    Practice every spare minute you can.  The only way to get your moneys' worth is to practice.  You pay more for the time away from me than you pay with me.  Not just for the instruction, but the progress too. 

    If they are willing to discipline themselves well enough to make progress. It’s always important to stay consistent. It’s better to practice 30 minutes a day than 90 minutes every other day. Be sure to understand that music mastery is not an overnight achievement.
