About
My favorite compliment is "I never thought I could do that!" My favorite work is to help students achieve more than they thought they could. My teaching style is skill aquisition based, I want my students to understand the how and the why behind what they are doing.
I am faculty at Mercyhurst University. I teach advanced instrumental conducting, string methods, and applied lessons for violin & viola. I also conduct the MU Civic Orchestra and string ensembles. I also perform many recitals.
I am the Artistic Director of the Erie Junior Philharmonic. I am responsible for setting and guiding the direction of the entire organization as well as conducting the most advanced ensemble.
I am the Principal Second violin of the Erie Philharmonic. I am responsible for leading the second violin section. I also am frequently asked to perform solo and in small ensembles for fundraising, outreach, and concert promotion.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by getting to know the students goals. Then I explain how I work and the kind of progress they can expect to make. Then as we work together I assess the students strengths and weaknesses so we can work together in developing the skills necessary to acheive their goals.
