What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The 1st lesson begins with a free 15-20 minute consulation, followed by a half hour lesson.
During the consultation the student and I will identify their playing goals, strengths, and weaknesses. We will then select a piece of music to learn and play through it until we approach a section that is causing difficulty. I will provide tips and techniques for playing the section, and they will take the song home for homework.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have fourteen years of playing experience that includes having played in two successful local garagepunk bands, each which released a full-length album and various open mic performances. I have also taken formal guitar lessons.

Try a few teachers out, see which one you click best with.

I encourage students to make a list of questions and goals to bring to their first lesson.
