What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Determine strengths and weaknesses in the new student abilities and design lessons to introduce new ideas, improve technical skills, play with feeling and have fun!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played professionally for over 40 years in many groups and many styles - onstage and in the recording studio.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$20 per 1/2 hour or $40 per hour.
I teach Tuesday evenings and Thursday day & evening in my home.
How did you get started teaching?
I was approached by music store owners and fans asking me if I would teach guitar.
What types of students have you worked with?
Beginning and intermediate guitar, at least 12 years old.
Most of my students play acoustic, but of course I work with electric as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I heard a former student performing her original songs, and she has released her 1st CD!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who will challenge you to expand your awareness of possibilities and to be a better guitarist.
