I teach all ages. I teach violin, viola and piano. I love
teaching.
I have been teaching for 35 years. I incorporate some theory and solfege into my teaching. I have had many students go on to college as music majors and become professional musicians. I hold a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music degrees from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
if a child, I like the parent or guardian present at least at the
first few lessons to see how I operate.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold both a B.M. with a major in string performance and a
M.M. with a major in music literature, both degrees are from
the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester in
Rochester, New York.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $30 an hour, $40 for 45 minutes, $50 an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I taught 8 years in the School District of Philadelphia music
devision. I have been teaching privately since then. I taught
several years at the Lancaster Conservatory of Music in
Lancaster, PA.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with all ages. My youngest student currently is 4 yrs old. My oldest is in her sixties. Generally my students are
school age: 5th grade thru senior in high school.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Allegro Chamber Orchestra of Lancaster had our Christmas
concert 2 weeks ago at First United Methodist Church. It was
well attended and very well received.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I wold recommend having a trial lesson to see how your
personalities mesh.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my goals?
How serious am I about committing to practicing regularly?
Am I willing to commit to weekly lesson as a high priority?
